Outpatient Treatment at A Better State

We’re proud to provide a variety of outpatient treatment programs to residents across the New England area. With outpatient treatment, clients attend recovery programs during the day or evening while living at home. The outpatient schedule combines a high level of support with a high level of flexibility. Additionally, outpatient programs are often more cost-effective than inpatient programs.

If clients need assistance finding a stable living space where their recovery is supported, our staff members will work with them to find the right sober living situation. We partner with providers of sober living facilities, which provide accountability, community, and connection.

Clients who want a high level of structure and care will benefit from our partial hospitalization program, which offers intensive programming five days a week. Programs include individual and group therapy, clinical care, medication management, and one-on-one meetings with a case manager.

For clients who want more independence and flexibility, we have several outpatient programs that can help with the transition from daily recovery treatment back into daily life. Clients can attend programs during the day or in the evening.

Therapy and Counseling at A Better State

Every level of treatment is based on individualized care plans that consider each client’s needs and goals. No two clients are alike, and we offer a range of programs so everyone finds a treatment method that gives them tailored support.

Individual and group therapy sessions use evidence-based methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. For clients recovering from trauma, we offer trauma-informed therapy that considers the way substance abuse is linked to traumatic experiences.

Clients can also benefit from the following:

  • Gender-specific programs
  • 12-step meetings
  • Medication-assisted treatment
  • Family therapy
  • Yoga therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Mindfulness meditation therapy

In addition, if clients have been diagnosed with a mental health condition and a substance use disorder, we offer co-occurring disorder treatment or dual diagnosis treatment that addresses both issues simultaneously.
